Manchester United's best players from 1-0 win against Leicester City

Manchester United moved up to fifth in the Premier League table after beating Leicester City 1-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Erik ten Hag‘s side made it three consecutive wins and back-to-back clean sheets with the shutout win against Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes.

Jadon Sancho‘s first half strike was enough for United to pick up the win after failing to beat the 2015-16 Premier League winners in our last five matches.

Here are Manchester United’s four best players from the 1-0 win against Leicester City.

Fresh after registering his first assist for the Red Devils since March 2019 in Saturday’s 1-0 win against Southampton, the confidence looks to be oozing through the Portuguese international’s veins.

United’s number 20 looked to relish the one-v-one battle with England international Harvey Barnes.

Despite getting a yellow on the 30 minute mark, Dalot didn’t take a backwards step and continued to dominate the duels against the pacey winger.

The 23-year-old looks to be growing in stature under Ten Hag and looks to be thriving playing next to World Cup winner Raphael Varane.

Unfortunately for Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, the pair are going to have to make do taking the watching brief in the Premier League currently.

The four-time Champions League winner’s understanding and partnership with Lisandro Martinez looks to be blossoming with every passing game.

United’s number 19 was in imperious form against the Foxes and Jamie Vardy wasn’t given a sniff of goal.

If Varane can stay fit, United could have an impressive maiden campaign under Ten Hag.

The Brazilian may have only been on the pitch for half an hour, but he brought calmness and authority to a United side that were giving Leicester encouragement due to our sloppiness in possession.

The serial winner didn’t need any time to adapt to the pace of game and he dictated the tempo of the game.

Casemiro is only going to get better with every passing appearance and training session with his new teammates.

After an eye-catching cameo against Leicester, Ten Hag will surely be tempted to give the former Real Madrid ace his maiden start against Arsenal on Sunday.

United’s Portuguese ‘Magnifico’ produced another influential performance and there is no doubt our number eight looks back to his best.

Wearing the captain’s armband has elevated Fernandes’ performance levels to new heights and Fernandes is back reproducing the form and consistency he showed when he joined the club in January 2020.

What will likely most please Ten Hag about the Portugal international displays is the former Sporting Lisbon’s seemingly endless amount of energy and willingness to run himself into the ground.

Fernandes is setting the standard and his selfless running looks to have had a contagious impact on his teammates.
