Manchester United teenager Rhys Bennett made his return to action in the second half against Leeds.
Pre-season provides a fresh start for players, and young defender Rhys Bennett was delighted to play a part.
Bennett, 18, played the second half in Oslo against Leeds and looked comfortable throughout as Manchester United secured a 2-0 victory, shutting out experience forward Patrick Bamford.
He featured alongside Will Fish in the second half, with forwards Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill getting on the scoresheet.

Rhys Bennett sent a message out via Instagram after Manchester United’s victory. He made reference to his injury battle and happiness at returning to action.
The teenager wrote: “Been a tough 6 months with injury but nothing better than a clean sheet and a win.”

Bennett back on track
Rhys Bennett had impressed during Manchester United’s winter friendly matches in Spain, earning praise from goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
He went onto play a behind closed doors friendly for United in December and was considered for the Carabao Cup tie against Burnley.
Bennett then disappeared from view as 2023 began, having suffered with an injury. Now the FA Youth Cup winner has returned to action.
Teammate support
Bennett is highly regarded by his teammates and received supportive responses to his message.
Defender Marc Jurado, who also played the second half, referred to Bennett as ‘The boss’, while Dan Gore hailed his ‘composure’.
The teenager will continue to play a part throughout the summer tour, and will get more chances to impress Erik ten Hag.
