It was a night to remember at Old Trafford, as Manchester United sealed a record 7-0 win over Barnsley in the third round of the EFL Cup.
In front of a watching Sir Alex Ferguson, Marcus Rashford looked back to his very best, handing the hosts an early lead after wonderfully nutmegging a Barnsley defender.
The lead was doubled by Antony, who scored from the penalty spot, before Alejandro Garnacho added a third right on the stroke of half-time.
United picked it up another gear in the second half, capitalising on some poor Barnsley defending to extend their lead – with Rashford and Garnacho both scoring their second goals of the night.
A late brace from Christian Eriksen sealed the win, which was their biggest-ever margin of victory in an EFL Cup/League Cup match.
Manchester United now go into the hat for the EFL Cup fourth round draw, which takes place later this week.
Here is how tonight’s devastating 7-0 win against Barnsley unfolded.
