Several of Diogo Dalot‘s Manchester United teammates have taken to social media to praise the right-back for his ground-breaking performance for Portugal last night.

On his sixth cap for his country, the 23-year-old scored his first goals for the Portugal senior national side in last night’s 4-0 Nations League win against the Czech Republic.

United’s number 20 netted a brace in what was his first appearance in the Nations League. Both of his goals came with his weaker foot.

His first was a poachers finish following a Rafael Leao cutback while his second was a screamer from distance which perfectly found the far bottom corner.

Dalot, who was signed from Porto by Jose Mourinho, is rapidly becoming one of Manchester United’s most important and most improved players under Erik ten Hag.

Dalot posted on Instagram after last night’s victory and his post translates: “A night to remember. How special it is to play and score for Portugal.”

Several Manchester United teammates reacted to Diogo Dalot’s ground-breaking performance for Portugal. Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro and Jadon Sancho all reacted to his post, and club captain Harry Maguire shared an image of Dalot celebrating scoring on his Instagram story.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who took a blow to the nose earlier in the match, set up Diogo Jota to complete the rout for Fernando Santos’ side.

Following Spain’s defeat to Switzerland last night, Portugal will top Group A2 and advance to the Nations League semi-finals if they avoid defeat to Luis Enrique’s side on Tuesday night.
