Manchester United expressed an interest in Brentford left-back Rico Henry late in the transfer window.
Amid an injury to Luke Shaw late in the transfer window, Manchester United were forced to explore options
United settled on a loan deal for Sergio Reguilon, not after reportedly enquiring after Brentford left-back Rico Henry, The Mail reported.
The report stated: “United are understood to have made initial checks into Henry’s situation and potential availability.”
Brentford responded with a demand of £30 million, which Teamtalk reported left Manchester United ‘flabbergasted’, and subsequently walked away from the deal.
The Mail‘s report did add, “it is understood they maybe more open to considering his departure at the end of the season.”

Rico Henry ACL latest
After seeing a dream move to Manchester United placed on hold, Rico Henry has now suffered a serious injury.
He was substituted in the first half of Newcastle’s game with Brentford on Sunday and The Athletic report he has suffered a suspected torn ACL.
Brentford have since confirmed a ‘significant’ knee injury which requires surgery.
Manchester United full-back crisis
Manchester United’s depth at full-back has meanwhile been even further tested by a hamstring injury to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, which will sideline him for two months.
This means Diogo Dalot, who was used to cover at left-back, will now be required on the right, leaving United solely reliant on loanee Sergio Reguilon.
