Manchester United have suffered a huge blow as Cameroon have announced that Andre Onana is back in the squad for their AFCON qualifying game in September.
The United goalkeeper, who joined the club from Inter Milan this summer for £43 million, had seemingly fallen out with the coach of Cameroon but it now seems the goalkeeper is back in contention for the African nation.
This will come as a huge blow to Erik ten Hag as United will have to start planning for the goalkeeper’s absence in January due to the looming Africa Cup Of Nations.
The goalkeeper has arguably been the best signing United have made this summer as the former Ajax man has shown his quality throughout.

Onana’s absence is another issue for Ten Hag
The start of this season has been one full of issues for Erik ten Hag to try and weave through. Whether it has been United’s struggles to sell some of their top earners, the Mason Greenwood situation or the injuries that are now piling up, it’s not been smooth sailing for ten Hag.
Losing his first-choice goalkeeper for the best part of a month during the busy January period is certainly not ideal for the former Ajax manager.
The hope will be that Onana’s loss won’t be too harshly felt during that period, and United may have a new number 2 to call upon during this time.

Altay Bayindir’s chance
Altay Bayindir, who United are seemingly about to buy for around £6 million, may well be given a big chance as the team’s number-one goalkeeper during that period.
The Fenerbahce man, who will be the club’s first-ever Turkish player to don the red kit of United, will certainly have big boots to fill but it seems Ten Hag would be more than willing to give the new goalkeeper a chance.
The Dutch manager was keen to sign Bayindir during his days at Ajax and now Ten Hag has his wish and the goalkeeper will have a big chance to impress as a number one in January.
