Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund eases injury fears

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has eased fears about a potential hamstring injury on international duty.

The last thing Erik ten Hag needs is to see key players pick up injury problems on international duty.

United have suffered a host of injury woes this season with the likes of Luke Shaw, Sergio Reguilon, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all out right now.

United just can’t afford to pick up any more injuries and Ten Hag may be more than a little anxious during this international break.

Rasmus Hojlund clears up injury concern

One player United really can’t afford to lose at the moment is striker Rasmus Hojlund.

The Dane has shown promise since his big summer move from Atalanta, scoring two impressive goals against Galatasaray.

Hojlund is now with the Denmark national team and he started in a 3-1 home win over Kazakhstan over the weekend.

There were concerns about Hojlund picking up a hamstring problem though with Danish reporters asking him about a potential issue.

Bold note that Hojlund had a hamstring problem and cramp, but Hojlund ‘assured’ them that the issues were ‘nothing serious’.

That will be a source of major relief at United with Hojlund seemingly avoiding a more significant injury.

Manchester United will hope for Hojlund favour

Denmark still have one game left in this international break as they take on San Marino away from home on Tuesday night.

United may well be hoping that Denmark provide something of a favour by leaving Hojlund on the bench.

United will feel that Denmark hardly need to use Hojlund to beat San Marino, arguably the worst team in international football.

Hojlund is playing a lot of football at the moment and having picked up a little niggle over the weekend, a rest against San Marino would be welcomed.

After all, Hojlund will then jet back to Manchester with the weekend trip to Sheffield United coming into focus – and Ten Hag would no doubt like to start him in that clash.
