Manchester United star Diogo Dalot has an enduring friendship with his Portugal international teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
This was very evident at Euro 2024 when an emotional Cristiano Ronaldo burst into tears after an extra-time penalty miss in the last 16. Diogo Dalot was on hand to console him.
Portugal went on to win the game in a shootout, with Ronaldo scoring. They would go onto be eliminated in the next game against France.
While Ronaldo is taking some time to reflect on his next steps at international level, following the tournament, he is doing so in the company of Diogo Dalot.
Dalot spotted with Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo shared an image on his Instagram story reel where he was relaxing with family and friends.
Manchester United star Diogo Dalot can be seen in the group shot with Ronaldo, showing his close friendship with the legendary striker.
Dalot and Ronaldo are Portugal teammates, but they struck up their friendship at Manchester United when they were teammates between 2021 and late 2022, before Ronaldo’s exit.
Ronaldo and Dalot frequently spent time together at Carrington, socialising off the pitch too, with the young right-back earning the trust of the legendary number seven.
Earlier this week Dalot was spotted taking part in his own pre-season training camp, pushing to maintain his fitness levels ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Ronaldo tipped Dalot for success
During Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial interview which sped up his Manchester United exit, one player he tipped for future success was Diogo Dalot.
Ronaldo praised Dalot’s attitude and professionalism, with the young right-back trying to learn from the veteran forward.
Dalot has explained how Ronaldo had a transformative impact on his career, and he is trying to adopt the same elite mentality.
In 2023/24 Dalot was busy proving Ronaldo was right to back him, and he was subsequently voted by his teammates as the player of the season.
United will be looking for more of the same from Dalot this season, but he will know that’s not enough – he will want to get even better.
