Manchester United star says he has ‘loads of time’ to be a success

Rasmus Hojlund has had his say on his performance for Manchester United as he netted once again for the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

The Danish striker smashed in a brilliant goal just three minutes into the game as Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

It was another brilliant goal from Rasmus Hojlund, his second goal at Old Trafford in as many games, and the Danish striker is starting to show the confidence and arrogance that led United to spend £64 million on the 20-year-old back in the summer.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this draw for fans of the Red Devils was the partnership that looks to finally be developing between Hojlund and United winger Marcus Rashford.

Hojlund on discovering his confidence

Speaking after the game to Premier League Productions, the Danish striker spoke about the newfound confidence he has discovered in recent weeks, particularly at Old Trafford.

“I know there is pressure when you come here, but I am 21 next month,” Hojlund said. “I am a young player, I have loads of time. There is pressure when you are a football player for Manchester United.

“There’s been a lot of talk about me not scoring in the Premier League, but I’ve always believed in my ability, and my teammates and coach have always done that as well.”

The Danish striker scored the winning goal against Aston Villa on boxing day and the hope was that the 20-year-old could kick on following that emotive moment of joy late on against the Midlands side.

Hojlund key to United’s future

The Red Devils fanbase have not had much to shout about so far this season but the emergence of a few of their younger players should certainly give them some hope for the rest of the season and the campaigns beyond.

There has been plenty of praise for Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho this campaign but people seem to forget that Hojlund is just 20 years of age.

For a young striker to lead the line for any Premier League side deserves credit but to do it for United certainly deserves credit and if he can carry on his recent performances, he could have a very fruitful second half of the season.
