Manchester United are finally getting players back to full fitness in 2024.

Manchester United posted training photos yesterday which depicted a trio of returning players from injury.

Luke Shaw, Amad Diallo and Harry Maguire were all training with the first-team squad.

It’s a fantastic sight to have these three back, but it also further highlights the gaping hole left by one Manchester United man.

Where is Mason Mount?

Mason Mount is still not back training with Manchester United. It’s safe to say he hasn’t hit the ground running at Carrington.

The England midfielder arrived for a whopping £55m but has played a measly 401 minutes – considering he’s on £250,000 p/w, this is slightly concerning. Not exactly great value for money.

The last time Mount appeared for the Old Trafford club was against Luton Town on November the 11th 2023.

Before the Tottenham clash, Erik ten Hag said, “Mason I think he needs some days or a week more,” but he wasn’t to be seen in yesterday’s session. We’re left with the question – where is he?

Harry Maguire posts message on injury return

As one Englishman is still missing, at least one more has returned.

Manchester United fans probably wouldn’t have been thinking they’d be desperate to return at the start of the season had to be Maguire.

He’s been integral to United’s defence this season and has been missed the squad. His return looks imminent, and he’s buzzing to be back.

Good news for Maguire, we just hope Mount follows his recovery steps shortly.
