Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has been talking up a Premier League rival and international teammate.
Casemiro has a change of scenery amid a troubled spell of form for him at Manchester United.
As Brazil international captain, there is no less pressure on the midfielder, ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay.
He has been speaking at a press conference ahead of their games, and spoke highly of one of his teammates.
Casemiro praises Bruno Guimaraes
Casemiro knows how challenging it is to play in the Premier League, and is full of admiration for the way Bruno Guimaraes has made it look so easy at Newcastle.
He was quoted by Premier League Brasil: “Bruno is a player who has been doing an exceptional job at Newcastle.
“With each game and each training session I am more comfortable playing with him.
“He is a great player, he has shown this in the most difficult competition in the world, which is the Premier League.”
Casemiro has been on the winning and losing side against Bruno Guimaraes in league and cup matches in England.
The two will do battle in November when Newcastle visit Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup fourth round, but for now, they are teammates.
Manchester United should have signed Bruno Guimaraes
Bruno Guimaraes’ talent was undeniable when he was at Lyon, when he topped a variety of statistical categories across Ligue 1.
Sky Sports reported in January 2022 that Manchester United were ‘monitoring’ Bruno Guimaraes closely, but that was as far as the interest went.
Newcastle signed him that same window, while Manchester United made no signings at all, with interim boss Ralf Rangnick in charge.
The midfielder has now signed a long term contract with Newcastle, and the only chance Casemiro will have to play alongside him is for his country, not at club level.
