Manchester United are set to cash in on Dean Henderson for a far lower price than previously expected.
According to The Mail, Manchester United have lined up the sale of Dean Henderson to Nottingham Forest.
While that is not surprising, the price is eye-catching, for the wrong reasons.
The report claims Henderson is expected to be sold for a deal ‘worth £15m plus add-ons’.

Dean Henderson price crash
Sadly it is not uncharacteristic to see Manchester United selling a player on the cheap. The club have a terrible record selling players in recent years.
And while best not to over-react just yet, what we can do, is take a look at the way Dean Henderson’s price has crashed in recent seasons.
Andy Mitten told The Athletic that Chelsea made an offer of £50 million for Dean Henderson back in 2020, which Manchester United rejected at the time.
In 2021, The Sun reported United were open to offers of around £40 million for the goalkeeper.
A move to Nottingham Forest has seemed likely for a while, after a positive loan spell at the club despite injury.
Goal reported as recently as May that he was expected to make a £30 million move to the City Ground.
But it now looks like United could get less than half this. The Athletic had recently reported Forest were reluctant to pay £25 million.
Now it looks like United could accept just £15 million plus add-ons. Even if these add-ons help the fee surpass £20 million eventually, it’s not a great deal.
Why Henderson’s price has nosedived
Manchester United took the view in 2020 that Henderson was a future number one. And at one stage he was on track, before a combination of Covid illness and a hip injury saw his progress halted.
The big error United made was Ralf Rangnick refusing to sanction a loan in January 2022, and keeping an unhappy Henderson around.
This meant that a year ago, he was desperate to leave, and possibly burned his bridges with Erik ten Hag in the process.
His injury issues at Nottingham Forest has also seen his value drop, also reducing the number of teams interested in his services.
Rather than a bidding war materialsing, it seems Henderson’s future is a one-club race, and the Red Devils are set to fold easily on price once again.
