After pulling out of negotiations for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, the Italian side have reportedly offered another player to Manchester United.

The Telegraph report Manchester United have turned down the chance to sign Weston McKennie.

United reportedly feel McKennie does not fit the profile of midfielder the club are attempting to sign.

McKennie, 23, has been at Juventus since signing from Schalke in 2020.

United reject chance to sign Weston McKennie

United have struggled to make the right signings this summer and have failed to sign a ‘number six’ midfielder to suit Erik ten Hag’s system.

The club are entering a desperate phase of the transfer window now, and will be getting offered all sorts of players before the deadline.

It’s important to make the right choices, and not simply grab whoever is available. United have made several errors like this in the past.

McKennie is a USA international with 35 caps, but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Juventus.

He made only 15 Serie A starts last season and 18 the year before. He is a talented player but one who is still developing, and he is probably not the right stature to make an impact in United’s midfield.

The club are attempting to pursue Real Madrid ace Casemiro, Marca report, which appears to be a long shot, but a move would be a lot better if it comes off than taking a cheaper deal for McKennie.
