Manchester United are planning to take advantage of Robert Lewandowski’s contract uncertainty at Bayern Munich.
The 33-year-old’s contract with the Bavarian’s expires next summer and as of yet the Poland international hasn’t put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
Meanwhile, Lewandowski continues to break goalscoring records and looks to be getting and better as he gets older.
Bayern’s number nine bagged a 10-minute hat-trick in last night’s 7-1 Champions League win against RB Salzburg.

His trio of strikes against the Austrian side took his goalscoring tally for the season to 42 goals from 35 games. It’s the seventh successive season that Lewandowski has hit the 40-goal mark.
In 364 games for Bayern Munich, Lewandowski has scored 336 goals and made 69 assists. He is posting the type of numbers that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi produced during their times at Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Although Lewandowski continues to spearhead Bayern’s charge for domestic and European glory, there hasn’t been a breakthrough in extending his stay at the Allianz Arena.
With Bayern stalling on tying the great Pole down, United are reportedly ready to strike if Lewandowski decides his future lies away from the reigning Bundesliga champions.

BILD report that the striker wants clarity over his future before the summer and is surprised that he hasn’t already been approached over extending his stay in Bavaria.
The report also adds that Bayern need to ‘hurry up’ because the Red Devils are ready to make the first offer for Lewandowski if he decides to bring his eight-year stay with the German giants to an end.
With a new permanent manager due to be appointed at Old Trafford, there could be huge changes in Manchester United’s forward department come the summer.
Edinson Cavani will leave as a free agent when his contract expires in June and Mason Greenwood continues to not be considered for selection.

Anthony Martial will return from his loan spell at Sevilla and will likely see where he stands with the new manager before making a decision on his long-term future at the club.
If Manchester United fail to secure Champions League football next season, there is every chance that Cristiano Ronaldo may look to leave.
Marcus Rashford’s camp also dropped the bombshell the day after United were pummelled by Manchester City that he is considering his future at the club.

In Manchester United’s current malaise, there are no guarantees of who will be at the club come next season.
And with Ronaldo and Cavani coming to the end of their careers, signing a younger mobile striker would most likely be the preferred option.
But if Lewandowski is keen on plying his trade in the Premier League, Manchester United would be foolish not to enter talks with the world’s best striker.
