Manchester United player with ‘no fear’ praised after performance v Tottenham

Manchester United had to settle for a point against Tottenham in a hard-fought Premier League game at Old Trafford.

A draw does not do too much for Manchester United in the grand scheme of things, but it was important to avoid defeat in the only Premier League game to take place this month.

A late chance for Scott McTominay saw United almost grab all three points. The chance came from an excellent pass from teenager Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho, 19, is United’s back-to-back Player of the Month, and he has entrenched himself as a regular starter for the Red Devils.

Alejandro Garnacho praised

Alejandro Garnacho’s performance was highlighted on MUTV, with studio guest Fraizer Campbell telling Matchday Review that he is impressed by his development.

Campbell said: “He’s improving a lot. He’s starting games in a row now.

“He’s strong, he’s not afraid to run at people. He’s got no fear.

“He’s got a lot in his locker and its great to see him progressing as a young player.”

Garnacho cross almost swung three points

Garnacho’s pass for McTominay was an example of one of the ways he can hurt teams, in addition to his goalscoring, and his willingness to run with the ball and take players on.

Gary Neville told Sky Sports: “It’s a brilliant delivery, he just whips it in Garnacho.”

Wes Brown added to MUTV: “It’s a great ball in, Scott knows he has to do better. He has to head the ball down.”

The two week break gives the Argentine a rest, which can work in his favour. While it won’t help players who have just returned, or have just begun to find form after a long time, Garnacho is one who can benefit from a break, having played a lot of football for such a young player this season so far.
