Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is not expected to play for the Red Devils again.

Left behind off this summer’s pre-season tour, Eric Bailly is set to leave Manchester United this summer.

With his exit a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’, Bailly has dropped a hint that he has visited Carrington for the final time.

The defender sent a message out on Instagram Stories, seemingly departing Carrington with his bags packed.

Eric Bailly ‘done’

The Ivory Coast international attached a brief comment alongside his picture, which read simply ‘done’ with a tick.

It was a hint his time at Manchester United is over, and that he has collected his belongings from Carrington ahead of his departure.

Bailly needs to move on

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag could not have made it any clearer that Bailly has no future at the club, leaving him off the club’s pre-season tour.

United even negotiated a purchase option in his loan to Marseille last season. He just did not play enough games for the Ligue 1 side to trigger it, due to a combination of injuries and suspension.

The decision to extend Bailly’s contract in 2021 looked an odd one at the time, and it has aged poorly.

The centre-back is currently one of United’s longer serving players, having joined the club in 2016 under Jose Mourinho, however, injuries have derailed his career.

Now he needs a fresh start, and efforts are being made behind the scenes for him to find a new club, with his departure seemingly imminent.
