Manchester United’s season takes yet another turn – with the Red Devils drawing 3-3 with Galatasaray in the Champions League.
The draw for the Red Devils now means their future in the Champions League now lies firmly outside their grasp. They still can qualify, but it’s highly improbable.
Manchester United need to beat Bayern Munich at Old Trafford in matchday six, whilst the other two sides must draw for Erik ten Hag to stand any chance of progressing.
The sad thing is, many of the first-team squad fought valiantly last night. There were some seriously strong performances. However, one player offered little once again.

Andy Mitten on Anthony Martial
Anthony Martial was back to his usual self last night. Following his goal against Everton in the Premier League on the weekend, fans were somewhat optimistic about him going forward. His performance last night soon shot that down.
Speaking in the Football Daily podcast following the Champions League clash, Manchester United journalist Andy Mitten hit the nail on the head about the Frenchman:
“They do not have enough options,” Mitten began. “Erik ten Hag wanted Harry Kane who didn’t come last summer.
“Anthony Martial’s got a long contract, the idea that he would move on came about when he went to Sevilla, didn’t move on and came back to Manchester United because no one is going to touch his wages.
“United fans have almost given up on him completely, but then he does well when he comes on at Everton. It’s this tiny flicker that remains.
“He’s hugely talented, but we’re getting 10% out of him – when we should be getting 70, 80 per cent.”
The curious case of Anthony Martial
The French forward really is an enigma. Seemingly ‘fully fit’ at the moment – he still looks miles of it.
He lost that sharpness and dynamism that made him so good in the first place, leaving what is just a seriously mediocre striker in its place.
His contract is up at the end of this year. Were surely going to be waving goodbye to Martial soon. Thanks for the memories, Anthony.
