Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Barcelona defender Sergino Dest, 90Min report.
The outlet claims Dest is not a part of Xavi’s long-term plans. Barcelona would like to raise funds for their own transfer incomings.
Dest was handed his professional debut under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, before being snapped up by Barcelona for £23.8 million in 2020.
90Min report Erik ten Hag is open to a move, even though right-back might not be his first priority to strengthen in the transfer market this summer.

Sergino Dest’s career so far
Dest made his Ajax debut at 18 under Ten Hag in a 5-0 Eredivisie win over FC Emmen. After making 37 appearances for the Dutch club, Barcelona came knocking.
In October 2020 he was made his Barcelona debut against Sevilla, at just 19. He has gone onto make 51 appearances for the Spanish side.
Dest has played in the Champions League for both Ajax and Barcelona, making 16 appearances in the competition to date.
The right-back is also a USA international, making his debut for his country in 2019, and has gone onto make 17 caps, scoring twice.

United’s right-back situation is unclear
Manchester United’s right-back situation has been unsatisfactory despite additions of Diogo Dalot in 2018 and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in 2019.
The duo have split playing time this season, and yet combined, they have delivered no goals and no assists.
United also have youngster Ethan Laird pushing to break through, although he could be set for another loan deal, perhaps returning to Bournemouth, with who he won promotion.
Ten Hag will likely stick with one of Dalot or Wan-Bissaka, and then could add his own player, depending on funds. Sergino Dest is one option.
Fabrizio Romano reports today that Wan-Bissaka has been told he can leave, indicating United could look for a replacement to compete with Dalot.
This does not feel like a deal United would do immediately, with midfield, striker, and central defence arguably bigger priorities. But when some of those chips begin to fall into place, attention could turn to a new right-back, and if Dest is still available, Ten Hag could seek a reunion.
