Christian Eriksen is in hospital for observation but is ‘doing well considering the circumstances, say the Danish football association.

Manchester United’s statement read: “Everybody at Manchester United is encouraged by Denmark’s update on Christian Eriksen following today’s abandoned friendly against Ukraine.

“The club is sending strength and love to Christian and the Eriksen family as we await further news.”

Eriksen’s former Inter Milan teammate and former Manchester United captain Ashley Young also reached out on social media to the midfielder.

Young wrote: “I hope your ok bro @ChrisEriksen8, sending prayers and best wishes to you and your family.”

Eriksen previously collapsed at Euro 2020, which took place in 2021.

Manchester United’s Patrick Dorgu had been playing in the Denmark friendly and had just been substituted minutes before Eriksen’s collapse.

Dorgu had scored to give Denmark the lead, with the team winning 2-1 at the time of the abandonment.
