Manchester United news and transfer roundup: McTominay, Valencia and more

Manchester United are nearing the end of another week of training as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to preserve the feel-good factor that has surrounded the club since his arrival.
Brighton are the next team that stand in the caretaker manager’s way of doing exactly that but if United can overcome Chris Hughton’s side, it will be seven wins in a row.
Meanwhile, the wheel of news around Old Trafford is still turning, with news around potential outcomings dominating today…

The Scotsman report that young midfielder Scott McTominay is wanted by Celtic – of course now managed by former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers – on a loan deal until the end of the season.
One man who does not fancy a move away this month is Antonio Valencia; the Times report that he will see out his contract at Old Trafford, which runs until the end of the season.

Elsewhere, the Mirror report that David de Gea is on course to sign an extended deal with United, because he now feels the club is capable of competing for major honours now Jose Mourinho has left.
The Sun
report that Solskjaer will build his side around another high-profile player in the shape of Paul Pogba, as the Frenchman has been resurgent under the caretaker boss.
