Manchester United’s preparations for their FA Cup fourth round trip to Arsenal on Friday night are in full swing as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces another huge test of his management.
The Gunners swatted aside Chelsea 2-0 on Saturday but have looked shaky in recent weeks and United will be looking to exploit any defensive uncertainty at the Emirates Stadium.

Darmian’s exit hits the brakes

Matteo Darmian has seemed close to a return to Italy with Juventus in recent days, but a report by TMW claims that United are not happy with the offer from the Old Lady – they want an increased loan fee and the introduction of a mandatory purchase offer at the end of the season.
Elsewhere, Antoine Semenyo has emerged as an unlikely name on the Reds’ shopping list; with the teenage Bristol City striker – currently on loan at FA Cup giant-killers Newport County – catching the eye according to the Daily Mirror.

Martial edging closer to deal

Meanwhile, ESPN report that United have had a breakthrough with Anthony Martial and are now confident that protracted contract negotiations will end with him signing a new five-year contract.
The Mirror also
report that Ed Woodward has identified his top choice to be the club’s new director of football, Paul Mitchell, formerly of Tottenham, who has a good working relationship with Mauricio Pochettino…
