Manchester United are now being linked with a move for Richarlison, claim The Telegraph.
The Brazilian opened the scoring last week against United in Everton’s rout.
The 21-year-old is a promising and talented player, one who United would risk over paying for.
Everton secured a deal for Richarlison last season for £35 million rising to £50 million.
There is no chance The Toffees sell for anything less than £50 million after an impressive opening season at Goodison Park.
United paying over the odds for Richarlison would define a lot which is wrong with the set up at Old Trafford.
Richarlison was available at just £11.5 million two seasons ago, and Watford took the gamble.
United were reportedly interested, The Star reported at the time, but didn’t pull the trigger on a bargain deal.
Now to pay more than five times the price would be poor value.
There has been too much of this at United in recent seasons, the club need to start being smart in the transfer market.
Richarlison is a good player and would improve the team, but the price Everton would demand would make it a poor deal.
United need to find the next Richarlison, not the one who has already been discovered.
