Should Erik ten Hag be taking notes of the defender to potentially utilise in his first-team squad next season? Should he be in a different position altogether?

Naturally, when you lose a game 3-1, no one is going to have the best performance – but it was certainly one to forget for the budding Spanish star.

- 0 shots on target
- 35 touches
- 12 times possession lost

A bad day at the office for the youngster. Maybe it’s best if he remains a little more defensive for the time being.
However, it is good from United’s perspective to know he’s adaptable. He should still be in and around the squad at Old Trafford next season.
