Manchester United have inserted a buy back clause in James Garner‘s £15m move to Everton, says Fabrizio Romano.
The 21-year-old is expected to join Frank Lampard’s Toffees in a £15 million deal on a five-year contract with him already completing his medical.
To ensure Manchester United have the option of re-signing the England Under-21 international in the future, if they wish, Erik ten Hag’s side have inserted a buy back clause into the deal.

The Manchester United academy graduate hasn’t featured in any of Ten Hag’s four Premier League games so far.
Having been an unused substitute in the opening two games of the season, United’s number 37 hasn’t been part of the last two matchday squads.
Following the arrivals of Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, Ten Hag has sanctioned the midfielder’s departure.
Having shined during his season-long loan at newly-promoted Nottingham Forest last season, Garner was hoping to return to Old Trafford and establish himself in the Dutchman’s side.
But with the 52-year-old splashing the clash, Garner has found himself falling further down the pecking order.

He may have returned to the City Ground on another loan deal had Steve Cooper’s side not already signed Manchester United goalkeeper on a season-long loan deal.
But it now looks like the Birkenhead-born midfielder is set to move to Goodison Park.
Garner made seven first team appearances for the Reds, the last of which came in December 2019 in the Carabao Cup against Colchester United.
Having impressed at Forest, Garner will be itching to prove himself in the top-flight and make himself a mainstay in Lampard’s midfield.
Manchester United may come to rue letting one of our own depart without being given a proper chance to prove his worth.
Minor injuries hampered Garner’s chances to impress Ten Hag during pre-season, but with United having the safety net of the buy back clause, James Garner could well return to Manchester United in the future.
