Manchester United in 'advanced talks' over Dylan Levitt exit

Manchester United are in ‘advanced talks’ over selling Dylan Levitt to Dundee United, report Scottish newspaper The Courier.

The paper report: “Barring any unforeseen hitches, Levitt will be a [Dundee] United player by the end of the week.”, and hope to have it tied up within 24 hours.

The Scottish side are keen to get a deal done quickly before their training camp begins in Spain on Sunday.

Levitt impressed on loan for Dundee United last season, voted as the fans’ player of the year, scoring six goals from midfield.

‘Advanced talks’ over Dylan Levitt exit

It does not state in The Courier‘s report whether Levitt would be leaving on a permanent basis or on a loan deal.

A report from The Sun last weekend said both options were on the table, amid competing interest from Cardiff City. The Courier claim Derby County are also interested.

Levitt’s top priority is to earn a place in Wales’ World Cup squad for the upcoming tournament in Qatar. This raises the possibility that if he did leave on loan, it could simply be a short-term switch until January.

The Sun‘s report claimed United could sell for as little as £300,000 plus add-ons.

Levitt has not been pictured at Manchester United’s training ground since players returned, which is an indication the Red Devils have given him permission to pursue an exit.

Still wanted by new manager

Dundee United changed managers this summer, with Jack Ross replacing Tam Courts. Despite this, Levitt is still viewed as a priority for the Scottish Premiership side, who qualified for the Europa League.

Ross said: “That process has been going on for a while now — and hopefully we are edging closer to bringing him back. That would be brilliant because he was hugely impressive when I came up against him [as Hibs manager] last season.”

Levitt is a big talent who appears simply to be squeezed out of the equation at Old Trafford, with new midfielders expected to sign. The 21-year-old has only made one competitive appearance for the Red Devils, against Astana back in 2019.
