Manchester United are still alive in the race to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer.
A report from Forbes claims the Red Devils are still in contact with Bellingham’s family, following the near miss for the midfielder two years ago.
The report states: “They were bruised by his rejection in 2020, but also understood the appeal of Dortmund to a young player hungry for game time, and always saw it as hopefully only a temporary knock-back in a long-term pursuit.
“The club have maintained a relationship with the player’s family and continued to monitor his impressive development in Germany.”
A report in The Mirror last month claimed United had made Bellingham the club’s top transfer target for summer 2023, even though his price tag could reach a staggering £150 million.

Intense competition
Jude Bellingham’s performances for England at the World Cup have highlighted his incredible potential, and put Europe’s elite clubs and big spenders on notice.
Real Madrid are reported to be interested claim Sky Sports, while Manchester City are also keen on reuniting him with Erling Haaland.
Liverpool and Chelsea both also want Bellingham, while a club of Paris Saint-Germain’s spending power cannot be ruled out.
Nor can Manchester United – especially if the club secure a top four place and a takeover bid is completed.
Hearing that the club have maintained a dialogue with Bellingham’s family is further reason to hold out hope.
Bellingham visited United’s training ground in 2020, with club ambassador Bryan Robson saying he believed the deal was done.
The teenager has one goal and one assist in four games at the World Cup, and is expected to start for the Three Lions against France this weekend.
He has seven goals already for Borussia Dortmund this season, including four in five Champions League games.
Bellingham is a player who has already proved he can step up on the big stage, and this is part of why he is so valuable.
