Anthony Elanga is set to complete his move from Manchester United to Nottingham Forest.

Sky Sports report Anthony Elanga is undergoing his medical with Nottingham Forest ahead of his move to the club.

The Telegraph reported last week that Forest have agreed a £15 million fee with United to buy the Sweden international.

The formalities are now being tied up for Elanga to complete the switch.

Time for Elanga to move on

Manchester United had an opportunity to loan Anthony Elanga out in the January transfer window and chose against it.

Elanga was kept around as insurance, and turned out not to be needed. His final start for the club came in the early January Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Charlton.

His goal for Sweden in the March international break did not change his fortune, with Elanga not in manager Erik ten Hag‘s plans.

The 21-year-old is still relatively inexperienced, and played fewer minutes in the Premier League last season than Cristiano Ronaldo did – who left the club at the end of 2022.

A lack of game time did not help his meagre goal record. He has not netted for the club since February 2022.

If Forest are prepared to offer Elanga regular game time then he is right to jump at the move, and try and build on the flashes of potential he has shown so far in his career.

Dean Henderson could follow

Dean Henderson was on loan at Nottingham Forest last season and there is interest in the goalkeeper making a return.

Teamtalk report talks are ongoing between the two clubs, with Manchester United looking for a permanent fee for Henderson, rather than another loan.

Henderson is still on the US tour with United, as he continues his return from a thigh injury which saw him miss the end of last season for Forest.
