Manchester United fans got a closer look at Bruno Fernandes last night as he starred in Portugal’s UEFA Nations League clash.

Fernandes was one of three United targets featuring against Switzerland, along with Joao Felix and Ruben Dias.

The Sporting attacker scored a phenomenal 28 goals for his club last season.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola has linked United with a move, potentially in excess of £70 million.

Fernandes was overshadowed by irrepressible former United star Cristiano Ronaldo who scored an excellent free-kick in the first half, and then a late double to complete a hat-trick.

Fernandes was a danger from set pieces himself, with his corners posing Switzerland problems.

He had an effort from outside the area in the second half which he skewed wide.

During the 3-1 win he created three chances, the second highest of any player on the pitch.

It wasn’t a performance where he controlled the game or it’s end result, but there were some flashes of promise.
