On the back of another insipid Manchester United performance in the 3-1 defeat against Liverpool yesterday, the Champions League draw this morning brought further trepidation for the club’s fans.
Progress in Europe is perhaps the only bright spot of United’s faltering season so far but finishing second in the group only served to tee up a date with one of football’s superpowers.
In years gone by, that would have been the kind of occasion to electrify Old Trafford and raise hopes that another famous victory could be secured.
But Jose Mourinho’s current side are more likely to be on the end of a hiding; the best that can be expected is meek surrender, like the ones witnessed at both Anfield and the Etihad Stadium so far this season.
So when French champions Paris Saint Germain were pulled out of the hat, we asked United fans on Twitter for their instant reactions and the overwhelming response was one of dread.
There is not much hope that Phil Jones and Chris Smalling can keep out Neymar and Kylian Mbappe and we’ve taken a closer look at the instant reaction…
Neymar, Mbappe & Cavani against Mike, Phil & Vic?

What’s the point?
Unless we change our manager, and therefore our outlook on how to play football, we might as well not even bother turning up!
At least I’ll get to see some good footballers at Old Trafford, playing good football… it just won’t be the team in red

Not many teams we could draw where I thought we would have a chance. No matter what condition we are in PSG would be a tough matchup.

Do not go there. Just dont turn up, blame the busses and evertything around.. Just dont turn up….

Dread with indifference. What further humiliations must we endure?
