United’s season ended with a whimper against Cardiff, a lamentable 2-0 defeat.
One of the only memorable elements to the game from United’s point of view was Mason Greenwood making his first ever start.
Fellow youngster Angel Gomes also came off the bench to make his second appearance of the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Gomes made his debut two seasons ago on the final day against Crystal Palace under Jose Mourinho.
Since then he has stepped up from the under-18s to under-23s, where he has captained the club.
Against Cardiff, Gomes played for the final 17 minutes and managed 20 touches.
Gomes attempted 17 passes and completed all of them.

He showed enough in his brief appearance to state a case that he should get chances in pre-season, and did not look out of his depth.
