The 2024 European Championships are just around the corner now and Harry Maguire has learned his fate with Manchester United fans reacting.
For England, Thursday, June 6th has been a day of reckoning with huge decisions made over several players as Gareth Southgate looks to name his final 26-man squad.
In preparation of doing this, Southgate has sent home one Manchester United player which leaves just two in the squad, with Marcus Rashford having already missed out.
Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw remain, as Harry Maguire found out on Thursday that he’s not been chosen to head to Germany this month.
It’ll be a huge blow for the 31-year-old as it is probably his last major competition for England and one they are among the favourites four, with a favourable group stage.

Harry Maguire misses out on Euros call-up for England
Thursday brought disappointing news for Maguire with it being reported that he’d missed out on being called up to the Euros this summer by Southgate.
It was reported by David Ornstein who said that Maguire and Jack Grealish would both be missing out, with the Manchester United No.5 not being fit.
This came as little shock, as prior to this it was suggested in a report from the Telegraph that there were doubts over Maguire’s fitness as he was in a race against time to make it in time for the competition.
After the news was broken, fans were reacting to Maguire’s absence, and they had plenty to say.
How Manchester United fans reacted to Maguire’s Euros snub
After the news, fans of United and England were all on social media reacting to the news which has left many disappointed, with Maguire himself sharing a message of his disappointment.
As the reactions began, one fan wrote: “Disappointing for Harry but a summer off should do him good, kept coming back from injuries earlier for United and kept getting injured again. Hopefully, he has a chance to regain full fitness”.
Another had similar comments to make on the former United captain’s snub: “Gutted he couldn’t recover in time. Shame really. What a colossal man. Would’ve been monumental”.
“Gutted for Harry, deserved it after such a strong campaign”, one explained.
One United fan page commented: “Hard lines for Maguire – had a good season, finally refound some form but just picked up an injury at the wrong time. Shame.”
A fifth commenting directly under Maguire’s message wrote: “Don’t worry Harry, we’ll see you at the World Cup”.
“Head up Harry, all eyes on Pre-Season now”, wrote a sixth.
A final fan commented: “Gutted for you Harry, you’d have played a huge part in any success England have. Focus on recovery and get in nice and early for pre-season”.
