Manchester United fans are not wrong to say the lack of consistency this season has been a complete joke.

Football is feeling a little less fun to watch right now. It’s not just the Manchester United losses piling up, it’s the incessant VAR interferences and refereeing errors, which you could stomach somewhat if there as a level of consistency.

Instead it is all over the place. Take two incidents in the past 24 hours. We saw Marcus Rashford sent off for an accidental high challenge on Copenhagen’s Elias Jelert. This ruined United’s hopes of a Champions League away win, having to play an hour with 10 men.

Now, in Liverpool’s Europa League game with Toulouse, one of their players has escaped a yellow card for a near identical incident.

Endo went over the ball and his foot went studs up onto an opponent. He received a yellow card. Perhaps this is how it should be. But if UEFA are giving one as a red card, how can they give the other as a yellow?

Manchester United fans fume over Endo decision

Manchester United fans were fuming after footage of the incident circulated on social media. It feels like an anti-United witch hunt at this point, but we are putting it down to sheet incompetence.

One supporter wrote: “Absolutely ridiculous it really is the world against United”, while another fumed: “Exact same situation that got Rashford out of the game yesterday.”

Another added: “So similar to Rashford, but the right decision, all we ask for is consistency.”

Mor comments included: “It’s worse than Rashfords”, and “They laugh when we say there is an agenda but it’s clear as day.”

“This is absolutely messed up. I can now say with confidence there’s a clear agenda. Identical tackle,” another fan wrote.

“Why wasn’t he given a red card? There is an agenda against Manchester United.”

Manchester United worst hit by VAR

Manchester United are the team worst hit by VAR this season, according to a study from ESPN.

It showed more decisions have been overturned against Erik ten Hag‘s side than any Premier League team, and that is not counting all the Champions League decisions.
