Manchester United are not a club known for making smart decisions, and another one has emerged.
Supporters hoping to turn the page to a new start in 2024 quite literally had an unhappy reminder of past mistakes.
The club’s official calendar for 2024 features none other than Jadon Sancho as January’s featured player.
Sancho has not played a first team game for Manchester United since August.

Jadon Sancho heading for an exit
Manchester United have scored an own goal with this. With 12 calendar spots available for players, they have managed to select one player who does not wish to play for the club any longer.
Sancho hit out at manager Erik ten Hag at the start of September after his training performances were criticised, and his since refused to apologise.
Manchester United are now desperately trying to move Sancho on and find a new club.
A permanent sale would be preferable, although Sancho has done a good job of killing his transfer value over the past few months, which was already trending downward due to his distinctly mediocre performances in his first two years at the club.
United may have to loan Sancho out, and hope his performances can generate more interest ahead of the summer.
Manchester United fans react
Featuring Jadon Sancho as the first player on the January calendar is typical Manchester United. No fan wants to have to stare at his picture until February 1.
It generated plenty of discussion on social media. One fan wrote: “Literally didn’t buy it for that reason. Maybe next year.”
Another agreed: “It’s petty but this is why I didn’t buy the calendar.”
A third fan joked: “The most work he’s done this season posing for that!”
One hilarious comment read: “He was actually meant to be December 2023 but turned up late.”
Another fan noted: “Probably because we won’t see him again after January.”
One recalled last year’s blunder, commenting: “Last January was Ronaldo. Whoever designs them aren’t having much luck.”
