There is nothing in the world like being a Manchester United fan.
We all remember our first Manchester United game, the special feeling of seeing our heroes in the flesh for the first time.
Well, imagine if your first ever Manchester United match was not watching the team – but playing against them…
That is exactly what happened for Wigan Athletic winger Martial Godo this week in the FA Cup clash between the two clubs.

Manchester United dream come true
Martial Godo was part of the Wigan team defeated 2-0 on Monday night, with goals from Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes.
Reflecting on the game, he explained how playing against Manchester United was the first ever time he had seen the team he supported.
The 20-year-old wrote on X: “If you told me that the first time me seeing the club I grew up supporting live, is me playing against them, within only 4 months of senior professional football and being in non league 18 months ago I would tell you you’re dreaming. But you have two choices, to sleep with your dreams or chase them.
“And the latter is exactly what I’m doing , will continue to do and all of this will soon become normal.”
It’s only a shame for him his Wigan side did not earn a replay and a match at Old Trafford against the Red Devils.
Alejandro Garnacho reacts
Godo left an impression on Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who spotted his social media post.
Garnacho, 19, responded with a simple clapping emoji, acknowledging his fellow professional in a show of support.
Martial Godo has just lived a dream he did not think possible, and it may inspire him onto greater things. He may be a name to keep an eye on, after all, we wish every Manchester United supporter well.
