Manchester United face an unwelcome complication in the transfer race to sign Benjamin Sesko, with Chelsea entering the race.
Slovenian outlet Sport Klub report Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly has met with Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic.
The MEN had claimed Basanovic met with Manchester United just over a week ago to discuss a move.
Red Bull Salzburg are hoping to keep the Slovenia international striker, preferring to cash in next summer after losing star attacker Karim Adeyemi earlier this window.

Chelsea enter Benjamin Sesko race
Manchester United are currently deliberating whether to move for Sesko, who is one of Europe’s most highly rated young strikers. He scored a winner over Liverpool in a friendly last week.
It’s unsurprising United now face competition for the young striker, and Chelsea have Champions League football on offer.
Chelsea are looking for another striker to add up front after loaning out Romelu Lukaku to Inter. Their new owner is determined to make a splash in the transfer window and has suffered a number of high-profile misses so far this summer, losing out on Jules Kounde and Raphinha to Barcelona.

One way for Manchester United to try and win the race for Sesko is to agree to loan him back to Red Bull Salzburg for another year.
This could be tempting for the Austrian club, and is a deal United could be comfortable with providing Cristiano Ronaldo stays at the club.
Chelsea’s interest is going to be a test of United’s resolve, potentially creating a bidding war. The money United decide to commit could also depend on player sales, and what happens in midfield with long-term target Frenkie de Jong.
