Manchester United are, wait for it, planning another swoop on Ajax. This one will have to wait until 2023.

Ajax Showtime sources report that 17-year-old whizkid Silviano Vos is attracting attention from Europe’s top clubs.

Chelsea and Manchester City are both reported to be interested, along with Erik ten Hag‘s Manchester United.

Ten Hag will be well aware of Vos, a player whose development he will have tracked in Ajax’s youth system.

Manchester United keen on Silviano Vos

Vos is under contract with Ajax until 2024. Manchester United cannot sign him until 2023 when he turns 18, due to Brexit regulations.

In anticipation of interest from English clubs, it is likely Ajax will attempt to extend his contract before his 18th birthday next March, although no talks are underway.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both also claimed by Ajax Showtime to be keeping a close eye on the player.

Vos plays as a defensive midfielder and is a Dutch youth international with 15 caps at under-17s level, recently reaching the European Championship final. He provided an assist in a 2-1 defeat for Netherlands against France.

He featured for Ajax five times in the UEFA Youth League last season, although has not yet made his debut for the first team.

Speaking to NHNieuws last month, Vos said he was optimistic he would soon make his breakthrough, and said he idolises ex-Ajax star Ryan Gravenberch.

He said: “I feel I am on schedule. I will play for Jong Ajax next season, I have to perform well and make my minutes. It is my dream to be in Ajax-1 as soon as possible.

“If I continue as I am now, it might go quickly. Then I see a debut in Ajax-1 coming next season.”

No doubt former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag will be keeping a keen eye on his development.
