A late first-half goal from Bruno Fernandes was enough the separate the two sides, and what a strike it was.
A long, long pass from Jonny Evans landed perfectly onto the boot of Bruno who volleyed home.
But the game saw a good number of solid performances, particularly defensively.
Casemiro and Diogo Dalot were two of the players who were really good as Manchester United put their three game losing streak to bed.
Diogo Dalot sends message to Manchester United fans
Following the game both Casemiro and Diogo Dalot took to their Instagrams to send a message.
Dalot posted with a caption reading: “Well deserved win. Fought like a team! Thank you reds for being with us no matter what. This one is for you!”
His post was accompanied by a flexing emoji and a heart emoji, fitting given the performance United put in which required plenty of heart and strength.
Dalot was quality and showcased great leadership at times while United withstood wave after wave of Burnley attack.
Casemiro sends message to Manchester United fans
Casemiro also posted a message after the game, which showed how big the win is to the club.
Casemiro said: “Great work to get very important three points. Well done, lads !!!”
This was then followed by a fist emoji, which is in keeping with the personality of the Brazilian.
He was vastly improved against Burnley in comparison to his previous performances which had some questioning his future in this team.
