Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot created the most chances in a game in his career to date during yesterday’s 1-0 win against West Ham United.
The 23-year-old has started all 17 of United’s games under Erik ten Hag and he continues to become an ever-growing asset in the Dutchman’s side.
While putting on a masterclass at how to defend at the back post, United’s number 20 also posed a huge threat going forwards with his galloping and marauding runs that left the Hammers players trailing in his wake.
According to Opta, the six-time Portugal international created four chances against David Moyes Irons, the most he’s ever created in a top-flight league game in his career across the Premier League, Serie A (with AC Milan) and Portuguese Primeira Liga (with FC Porto).
As well as being United’s chief creator against the Londoners, Dalot was also incredibly disciplined and resolute, and played a crucial role in helping United hold onto the three points.
The former Porto man, who was signed for £19m by Jose Mourinho four years ago, made four tackles, three interceptions and five clearances at the Theatre of Dreams last night, according to WhoScored.

In his post-match press conference, Ten Hag was full of praise for Dalot who is rapidly becoming one of the best right-backs not only in the Premier League, but across Europe.
The former Ajax manager said: “I think he’s developing quite well; from the start I could see he has this physical power which he could bring to his attacking game, but I think he’s progressing game by game in the defending part as well.
“In finding his position, anticipating, operating in the back four, co-operating with his winger, so he’s making really good progress and I’m happy with that.”
Dalot’s contract with the Red Devils expires in June, but the club does have the option of extending his deal by a further 12 months.
