Manchester United Deadline Day transfer roundup: Fellaini, Pereira and more

The presence of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United caretaker manager has effectively prevented the club investing heavily in the January transfer market – because there’s no certainty over who would be the full-time boss.
While the Norwegian has not been active in the transfer market this month, he has still engineered substantial improvement at Old Trafford, and remains unbeaten since succeeding Jose Mourinho.
And there has still been some news flying around on transfer deadline day and it looks as if Solskjaer is looking to streamline his squad…

The biggest news of the day at United is that Anthony Martial has signed a new long-term contract with the club, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2024 –  as reported by the BBC.
Martial has been reinvigorated by Solskjaer, just like Marcus Rashford, who is to be the subject of a £100m swoop from Real Madrid before he signs a new deal himself, according to the Sun.

There was also one confirmed departure, as young midfielder Matty Willock left to join Crawley on loan, as per the BBC.

Sky Sports report that Marouane Fellaini is on the verge of completing his move to Chinese outfit Shandong Luneng and he is set to be followed out the exit door by goalkeeper Joel Pereira.
The Manchester Evening News report that Belgian side K.V. Kortrijk are set to take the Portuguese stopper on loan until the end of the season.
