Manchester United were originally supposed to face Liverpool at Anfield this past weekend. This game was re-arranged after Liverpool reached the FA Cup quarter-finals.
With United coming off a very disappointing defeat against Atletico Madrid, it was probably a positive to have this game delayed a little.

New date for Liverpool v United set
The Premier League announced last week a new date has been set for the postponed Liverpool v Manchester United fixture.
The game at Anfield will now take place on a Tuesday night on April 19. The match could have big implications for both the title race and the top four battle.
FA Cup semi helps United
Liverpool beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 on Sunday to reach the FA Cup semi-final.
They have been drawn against Manchester City and this will now take place on the weekend of April 16/17.
This game will take place at Wembley and take a lot out of both sides. It will come a fortnight after they face off in the Premier League.
Manchester United have a more comfortable fixture that weekend, facing Norwich City at Old Trafford on April 16.
This could all work in United’s favour, allowing Ralf Rangnick’s side to catch Liverpool cold, days after they face City.
While the trip to Anfield looked like a near certain defeat based on form, if played this weekend, in a month’s time a lot can change.
The timing of the fixture may just work out well, and give United a little extra hope, of facing an exhausted, deflated, or rotated Liverpool side. We can only hope.
