Manchester United have confirmed they have reached an agreement with reigning Eredivisie champions Ajax to sign Antony.

The 22-year-old Brazilian looks set to become Erik ten Hag’s fifth summer signing, joining Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro.

Ten Hag signed the nine-time Brazil from Sau Paulo two years ago, and the pair struck up a fruitful partnership during their time together in Amsterdam.

According to BBC Sport, Manchester United have agreed an initial fee of £80.75m, with a further £4.25m in add-ons, to secure his services from the Dutch giants.

The former Sau Paulo starlet will become Manchester United’s second most expensive signing of all-time and he will sign a five-year contract with the option of a further sixth, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The club’s official website states: “Manchester United has reached agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Antony, subject to a medical, player terms being finalised, and international clearance.

“Antony has 31 goals and 27 assists in 134 club appearances for Ajax and Sao Paulo, and two goals and two assists in nine senior appearances for his native Brazil.

“He has won two Eredivisie titles, and a gold medal in the 2020 Summer Olympics.”

Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is expected to become Ten Hag’s sixth summer signing, joining from the Magpies on a season-long loan deal worth £5m, with the Red Devils having the option of signing the Slovakian international on a permanent deal.
