Manchester United captain Harry Maguire suffered an injury in England’s 3-3 draw against Germany and the centre-back has been pictured limping.

The 29-year-old endured another chastening evening and made two big errors in the UEFA Nations League clash at Wembley last night.

The world’s most expensive defender has this morning apologised for his mistakes, but it seems that the former Leicester City man’s fortunes aren’t going to turn anytime soon.

Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate and captain Harry Kane both confirmed after last night’s game that United’s number five had picked up an injury.

Southgate confirmed that Maguire picked up an injury in the closing stages but decided to play on, though could now face a period on the sidelines.

“John Stones is feeling something with his hamstring and I think Harry is feeling something a little bit as well,” revealed the England boss.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane also touched on Maguire’s ‘pretty decent injury’ and praised the United skipper for playing on regardless.

Kane said: “H [Maguire] had a pretty decent injury at the end there and he played another five or 10 minutes on almost one leg. So great character from him, really proud of him for that.”

Maguire was seen limping at Wembley last night and there are claims that he’s picked up a suspected hamstring injury.

Given his underwhelming performances for England, Maguire hadn’t exactly given Erik ten Hag a selection headache for Sunday’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

The former Ajax boss would have likely stuck with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez even if Maguire had produced back-to-back man of the match performances against Italy and Germany.

But if Maguire has picked up an injury, it’s only going to make his quest to get back into the Manchester United side that more difficult.

While Southgate will be anxiously waiting to hear the nature of Maguire’s injury with this winter’s World Cup looming.
