Alejandro Garnacho scored probably one of the best goals in Manchester United’s history as they defeated Everton at Goodison Park.

A Diogo Dalot cross was met by the Argentine, who lept into the air with his back facing away from goal and unleashed what was a quite spectacular overhead kick that nestled in the top corner.

It was Alejandro Garnacho‘s first goal of the 23/24 campaign – and what a goal it was. It’s definitely going to be up there next year went the 23/24 Premier League goal of the season is announced.

But one Manchester United star reckons the goal can go one step further. He took to social media to beg Garnacho to take him to the Puskas Award Ceremony after the wonder strike.

Diogo Dalot praises Alejandro Garnacho overhead kick

Dalot had high praise for the strike and hinted at it possibly winning the Puskas Award, with the Portuguese full-back insisting on an invite to the award ceremony if Garnacho were to attend.

‘Take me with you to that Puskas Gala please @agarnacho7 unbelievable hermano!’ the post reads.

Dalot was the assister for the strike – so it only seems fair that Garnacho takes him along. He was also excellent today – but it’s certainly the young Argentine who will deservedly take the headlines.

Could Alejandro Garnacho’s goal genuinely win the Puskas Award?

In our opinion – definitely.

Gary Neville said ‘it is the ‘best overhead kick he’s seen’ so there is definitely a possibility.

Manchester United fans are also comparing it to Wayne Rooney‘s against Manchester City, with many Red Devils supporters already claiming that it’s better than that of United’s all-time top goalscorer.

Considering some of the previous winners, Garnacho’s goal was easily up to that standard – if not surpassed with his acrobatic effort.

It remains to be seen if Garnacho will win the award, but one thing is for certain in the now – the 19-year-old will be on top of the world.
