Amad Diallo will lead the Ivory Coast’s attack this summer after Emerse Faé named his 26-man squad for the World Cup.
It has been a challenging season for Manchester United winger Amad Diallo in terms of goal contributions.
The 23-year-old began the 2025/26 campaign being utilised as a right-wing back because Ruben Amorim knew he could be trusted in the role. However, the Ivorian has not been as prolific as last season, even though Michael Carrick’s arrival led to his return on the right wing.
Much like Cameroon star Bryan Mbeumo, Amad has struggled for form since the AFCON. That hasn’t stopped him from making the Ivory Coast squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Amad makes Ivory Coast squad but there’s no room for Wilfried Zaha
Faé has named four Premier League players in his Ivory Coast squad for the World Cup, but there is no room for former United winger Wilfried Zaha.
Amad is joined by Wolves defender Emmanuel Agbadou, Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare and Aston Villa’s Evann Guessand.
Zaha’s omission comes as a surprise because the 33-year-old was selected for the 2025 AFCON squad earlier this season.
Another player who will be of interest to United fans is RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old has been linked to United and is expected to start along with Amad in the Ivory Coast’s attack.
