Manchester United will travel to the Republic of Ireland for a brief training camp next week. Lisandro Martinez will be part of the group to step up his recovery.
Any break from domestic football takes getting used to. It’s usually a dull period waiting for Manchester United’s next game to come around.
United drew 1-1 against Bournemouth last time out, but 24 days will have passed by the time they take on rivals Leeds at Old Trafford in their next Premier League fixture.
To get away from Carrington next week, United arranged a four-day training camp in the Republic of Ireland. While details about the trip are scarce, the training camp promises to be intense to help the team prepare for the Premier League run-in.

Lisandro Martinez to join Man Utd training preparations in Ireland
United have been without Lisandro Martinez for the last five matches due to a calf injury.
Martinez hasn’t played for United since the draw against West Ham in February, but Michael Carrick said he was getting closer to a return before the previous game against Bournemouth.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Martinez is set to be in the squad that travels to the Republic of Ireland on Monday for the four-day training camp.
United fans will take each update with a pinch of salt after Martinez was only expected to be ruled out for one week following an injury he picked up in training.
With Harry Maguire suspended and ruled out of the game against Leeds, it comes as a boost that Martinez will be taking part in the intense training camp in Ireland.
If the training camp is a success for Martinez, the Argentine could partner Leny Yoro in the heart of defence against Leeds.
Carrick will hope to keep Martinez fit when he returns from injury. Otherwise, he runs the risk of missing out on a place in the Argentina squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Injury ruled Martinez out of a call-up to the national team for the March internationals.
Patrick Dorgu update
Another player United have been without for over two months is Patrick Dorgu.
The left-back will remain hopeful that he can return to fitness before the end of the season, but the report adds that the Leeds game will come too soon for him.
Dorgu has yet to return to full training, but he is still expected to play again before the end of the season.
Carrick will provide an update on his team in Ireland next Tuesday.
