Manchester United and everyone associated with the club have gotten numb to breaking all sorts of wrong records but the perfect record could be broken at the end of the season.
Man Utd ensured a date with history when they beat Athletic 4-1 on the night and 7-1 on aggregate to book their place in the Europa League final.
Spurs are the final hurdle towards saving this season and kick-starting the next one in tremendous fashion, and a win would be historic.
However, it would be even more historic for one Man Utd player who won’t be in Bilbao but will have the chance to do something no player has done in football history.

Man Utd star’s unique feat
It hasn’t been a good season for many players on an individual level, let alone at a team level where the club is about to finish at their worst-ever Premier League tally.
However, even in that hubris, some reliable performers have emerged, like Amad breaking out, Bruno Fernandes being Mr. Reliable and more.
Still, it can be argued that the biggest success story of the season has been a player away from the club, and he can cap it off with a ridiculous feat before the end of the month.
For most Man Utd players, May 21 will be the last consequential day of the season when it will be decided whether they finish this with a trophy or not.
But for one player in the squad, that will only be a job half done, since he can add to that trophy on May 29 and create history in the process.
Antony will be facing Jadon Sancho’s Chelsea in the UEFA European Conference League final on May 28 in Poland with the chance to make history.
Having played for United in the Europa League and eligible for a medal, then powering Betis’ UECL run, Antony could become the first-ever double European champion in a single season.
It is ironic that he will have to beat out Sancho in the process, who can be given a medal by United as well but he’s unlikely to get one since he’s had next to no contribution for the club this season.
Antony deserves success
Antony has been a revelation since joining Betis and has become the talisman of the Spanish side reaping the rewards of taking a chance on him.
His unstoppable form presents a quandary for Betis who want to sign him permanently, and some added European money would help with that venture.
The Brazilian deserves this success because even when he was a fringe player at Old Trafford, he never threw his toys out of the pram.
He kept his head down and worked hard, trying his best when given the opportunity, but ultimately, he couldn’t escape the vicious cycle.
It’s fair to say that when his Betis take on Sancho’s Chelsea in the UECL final, Man Utd fans will have a clear favourite and it’s the one wearing green, not blue.
