Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has insisted that Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo can still capture the missing puzzle piece from his legendary playing career.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been with current side Al Nassr since 2023 after his second spell with Manchester United came to an end in 2022.
The 39-year-old Portuguese forward fell down the pecking order under former United manager Erik ten Hag and Ronaldo pulled no punches on his way out.
Ronaldo is under contract with the Saudi Pro League club until the summer, but the United legend is widely expected to renew his deal with Al Nassr.
The Al Nassr skipper has scored 75 times and registered 18 assists in 84 matches for the Saudi Arabia-based outfit, with Ronaldo showing very little sign of slowing down.
Ronaldo will turn 40 years old in February, but the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar has not hinted at retiring from football in the foreseeable future.

Fernandes talks Man Utd legend Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo decided to continue his legendary playing career on the international stage with Portugal after Euro 2024 in Germany last summer.
Portugal crashed out of the tournament in the quarter-finals at the hands of France, despite Roberto Martinez’s men being one of the tournament favourites.
Ronaldo featured in every match at Euro 2024 for Portugal and the former Manchester United star was criticised for not scoring once at the tournament.
The Portugal captain has played a key part for his country in the Nations League in the aftermath of Euro 2024, with Ronaldo scoring five times in five appearances.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Bruno Fernandes has suggested that Ronaldo still has the opportunity to end his legendary playing career by lifting the World Cup trophy.
“It would be a huge thing for Cristiano Ronaldo to probably end his career with the national team with the two most important trophies: the European Championship and the World Cup,” he said.
“Portugal had never won them before. Winning the World Cup would not be a day of celebration, but rather a week of celebration in Portugal.”
Will Ronaldo be at 2026 World Cup?
Ronaldo will be 41 years old by the time the next World Cup rolls along in 2026, with the tournament being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is widely tipped to represent Portugal on the international stage at the World Cup tournament in North America.
Speaking to RMC in 2024, Portugal midfielder Vitinha is fully convinced that the Portugal and Real Madrid legend will play a part in the 2026 World Cup.
“[Ronaldo is] 39 years old and still a starter for the national team, I have no explanation for this longevity,” he said.
“He has already said it, and I imagine it’s the professionalism he has in everything he does.
“In the morning, in the evening, every day of his career, it’s incredible. I can imagine the efforts and sacrifices he must make and has made.
“And I also imagine that’s what has kept him in this condition at 39 years old. But yes, it’s a privilege for me.
“We are small, we are children, we dream of playing with him one day, and it’s happening.
“Luckily, I’ve had quite a few years to enjoy the national team with him… Of course, he will be there [at the 2026 World Cup]; he’s not going to give up.”
