Manchester United may have found form lately, but Erik ten Hag will still be feeling the pressure to see a successful end to the season.
Since the turn of the year, Manchester United are unbeaten in all competitions and clearly, Erik ten Hag has turned a corner.
The displays have been more exciting and all around better than they had previously been as the goals begin to flow.
But Ineos isn’t taking any prisoners in their approach, with an entirely new structure due to be put in place above the manager – something which has Jose Mourinho excited.
Therefore if a poor run creeps in once more, it could be the case that Ineos along with the new CEO Omar Berrada and recruitment staff, decide a change is needed.
If that is decided, it seems that Ineos are fans of a certain Italian to take over the job.
Ineos are keen on Roberto De Zerbi if Erik ten Hag is replaced
According to the Mail Online, Brighton are braced for interest to arrive for their star coach Roberto De Zerbi. Among those interested is United who could view the Italian as a successor to Ten Hag.
De Zerbi is also said to have admirers within Ineos, with Dan Ashworth likely to become the new sporting director he could be about to raid his former club.
In the event United are looking for a new coach then, De Zerbi could be the guy they want, but they’ll potentially face competition from Liverpool for his signature.
De Zerbi has won many plaudits across Europe in recent years and has turned his excellent Brighton side into true Europa League contenders along with playing some of the most attractive football in Europe.
Ten Hag is nowhere near the sack, but the forward planning is good to hear
Obviously, Ten Hag is definitely safe right now as he has overseen a real improvement over the past month.
That being said, it is encouraging that United clearly are thinking ahead and planning for the worst scenario even while things are going well.
This is the sign of a well run club, that the club have options and choices for if they need to make a switch.
Although ultimately, as Ten Hag has things going really well and with Ineos and the new footballing structure arriving things could only get better.
