Former Manchester United superstar David Beckham has revealed the “couple of moments” that he shared with a legendary former teammate in his playing career.
David Beckham shot to superstardom during his legendary playing spell under iconic former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.
The 49-year-old emerged from the ranks of the United youth academy and was one of the famed ‘Class of ‘92’ members to succeed at the Premier League club.
Beckham was a devastating winger during his prime and the former United star had a sensational impact during his time at Old Trafford in the 1990s and early 2000s.
The United legend lifted six Premier League titles, a Champions League and two League Cups under Sir Alex Ferguson’s tutelage.
Beckham has previously said that Ferguson was like a father figure for him, but the pair’s relationship soured towards the end of the Inter Miami president’s spell at Old Trafford.
Ferguson would sell Beckham to Real Madrid in 2003 for a £24.5m fee, with the former United winger becoming part of the famed Galacticos era at the club.

Beckham on Real Madrid legend
Manchester United legend David Beckham lifted a La Liga title during his spell in the Spanish capital with Real Madrid.
Beckham was only one high-profile signing made by Madrid president Florentino Perez, with the Galacticos era including Los Blancos legend Zinedine Zidane.
Zinedine Zidane had crossed paths with Beckham while the latter played for United and the Frenchman even urged the former England captain to sign for Madrid.
Beckham opened up about his relationship with Zidane and even picked out one “special” moment from their time together at Madrid.
“I was lucky to have those years with him and there’s a couple of moments actually. More than a couple of moments I cherish,” he told the YouTube channel First We Feast.
“I played him a ball in one game; it was about a 60-yard ball and I was able to just put it in front of him and he came around and he scored this beautiful goal with his left foot. You know, one of my best assists in my career.
“There’s another moment playing in his last game, you know his last-ever game for Real Madrid. That was special because his emotional side really [came] out and that was special.”
Beckham’s ‘ultimate’ interaction with Zidane
Beckham played for Madrid until 2007 before he left the Spanish capital and moved to the States to sign for MLS outfit LA Galaxy.
The former England captain returned to Europe for loan spells with AC Milan before seeing out the rest of his career with Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
Beckham recalled that his “ultimate moment” with Zinedine Zidane came in their last training session and how the 52-year-old approached him in the dressing room.
The ex-Madrid and United star was stunned when the “man of few words” shared a heartfelt message with him, with Beckham left in complete awe at Zizou’s compliment.
“But I think the ultimate moment with me and Zizou has to be the last training before his last game,” Beckham continued.
“I’m sat in the changing room and he walks in and I’m sat there, I’m getting changed.
“And he all of a sudden, I see him out of the corner of my eye getting up, and he’s walking towards me and I’m like, I start sweating like I am now a little bit. And Zizou doesn’t say much. You know, he’s a man of few words.
“He sits down and he said, ‘David, I just want to say it’s been a pleasure playing with you for the last few years.’
“And I was like [pulls shocked face]. He then went in to get treatment and I jumped up and ran outside.
“I took my phone and I was like – couple of my mates – [and] I said, ‘You’re never gonna guess what’s just happened.’
“I called my dad [and] I was like, ‘Dad, Zizou just said this to me.’ So that has to be the moment.”
