Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has not lost his touch and enjoyed a heartfelt moment with one player during the Chelsea match at Old Trafford.
Ferguson, who stepped down as United boss in 2013, has often been spotted at Old Trafford during matches and continued to show his unwavering support for the club.
The 81-year-old iconic Scotsman watched on as United sealed a 2-1 win over Premier League rivals Chelsea last week thanks to a Scott McTominay brace.
United impressed with their performance against the Blues and the mounting pressure had slightly eased on under-fire manager Erik ten Hag at the time.
However, Ten Hag’s desire for consistency with United was short-lived after Bournemouth inflicted a humiliating 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Ferguson’s classy moment during United vs Chelsea
Ferguson, who will turn 82 at the end of December, was sat in the directors’ box for United’s match against Chelsea and was shown during live TV broadcasts.
However, eagle-eyed Red Devils fans also noticed that United Women star Ella Toone was sat in front of the former legendary United manager at Old Trafford.
According to The Daily Mail, Toone ‘returned to her seat late’ for the second half of the match and her time management caught the eye of Ferguson.
The newspaper added that the 24-year-old England Women midfielder incredibly managed to land herself on the receiving end of a ‘playful telling-off’ from Ferguson.
“The United women’s team player watched the men in action against Chelsea from the directors’ box, and was sitting in front of Ferguson,” the Mail said.
“When Toone returned to her seat late for the second half, she received a playful telling-off from the Scot.”
Ten Hag needs to take inspiration from Ferguson
Ten Hag is under mounting pressure to turn things around at Old Trafford and the Dutchman faces his toughest test as United boss this week.
United are on the verge of being knocked out of the Champions League and face a crucial clash against German side Bayern Munich at Old Trafford today.
Following on from the contest against Bayern, Ten Hag’s men will then travel to Anfield on Sunday for their Premier League showdown with rivals Liverpool.
Ten Hag might be facing a tall order at the moment, but the United manager needs to look towards Ferguson for inspiration and attempt to weather the storm.
Ferguson faced a tough start to life at United after he replaced Ron Atkinson and was able to turn things around before he faced the chopping block.
It is now time for Ten Hag to follow in Ferguson’s footsteps by turning things around at United and putting his managerial career at Old Trafford back on track.
